Former Chelsea player Jules Kounde yet will remain still at Sevilla and maybe his contract be renewed for Sevilla have rejected a bid for Jules Kounde, while insisting that the club has no need to sell the Chelsea target or any other player.
Kounde, 22, has been closely linked to a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
However the Blues will have their work cut out to sign the defender, although Sevilla did confirm that they would evaluate any subsequent offers should they arrive.
What was said?
"It is true that there was an offer for Kounde that we turned down," club president Jose Castro explained to reporters on Wednesday.
Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui has revealed that Monchi and the club's board were the main reason as to why Jules Kounde wasn't granted his wish of moving to Chelsea this summer.
Kounde was denied his £42million west London move this summer despite making it publicly know that his desire was to find a new challenge away from Spain in the transfer window which has just passed by.
"Regarding my future, it’s certain that I will perhaps have to change clubs this summer," the Sevilla star said back in June and now his hopes were all turned down after the decision made by the manager to reject the bid.
