Coherent Market Insights Partners with ESC India as Knowledge Partner for Chintan Shivir 2026 to Support the Future of India's Electronics Manufacturing
NEW DELHI, INDIA, July 2026 — Coherent Market Insights (CMI) has been announced as the Knowledge Partner for ESC India's Chintan Shivir 2026, a key Government of India consultation designed to gather industry and research perspectives on the future of the country's electronics manufacturing sector. The consultation will take place on July 10, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, bringing together government representatives, industry executives, technology experts, and policy researchers to discuss the next evolution of India's Production Linked Incentive (PLI) programme.
To support these policy deliberations, CMI has prepared a comprehensive research study titled "ESC India's Chintan Shivir 2026 ." Developed in collaboration with ESC India, the report has been submitted as an official knowledge resource for the consultation, offering evidence-based insights into the performance and future direction of India's electronics manufacturing initiatives.
The study evaluates three flagship government programmes that have accelerated the sector's growth: the Large Scale Electronics Manufacturing (LSEM) Scheme, the IT Hardware PLI 2.0 Scheme, and the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS). Together, these initiatives have encouraged investment, expanded production capacity, and strengthened India's role in global electronics manufacturing.
According to the report, the PLI framework has helped transform India into the world's second-largest producer of mobile phones. Mobile phone manufacturing has grown from nearly ₹2.13 lakh crore in FY21 to around ₹5.25 lakh crore in FY25, while exports have increased almost eightfold—from ₹22,870 crore to approximately ₹2 lakh crore during the same period. Electronics has also become one of India's fastest-growing export sectors, advancing from the seventh-largest export category in FY22 to the third-largest by FY25.
