Fourth wave of Corona virus disease is currently at the peak in which government needs to impose more strict measures in order to reduce its spread. For the past weeks, Kenya has recorded a worrying trend in positivity rate that does provide a conducive environment for physical learning to take place.
According to world health organization, the recommended positivity rate for conducive learning to take place should be less than 5% otherwise the schools should remain closed.
Currently, all learners are in their half term break and are expected to be back in school comes next week. However, in my own opinion I humbly request the government to postpone the break as the ministry of health monitors the covid-19 curve.
It's not a good idea to subject learners to this deadly virus. Dead people neither read nor do exams. Allow children to stay back home until when the positivity rate would have completely gone down.
