Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi recently addressed maize farmers, urging them not to undersell their produce, emphasizing that the government has set a minimum price of Sh4,000 for a 90kg bag. During the Tree Planting Day event organized by the UDA Uasin Gishu County Chapter Leadership, Sudi highlighted the importance of farmers being vigilant and not succumbing to the temptation of selling their maize at throw-away prices, especially in the face of the current high cost of living.

Sudi expressed concern that selling maize below the stipulated price would be detrimental to farmers given the economic challenges. He urged them to be conscious of market dynamics and to resist the pressure to sell their agricultural produce at prices that do not reflect its true value.

The legislator acknowledged the tough economic times but reassured Kenyans that the situation would improve. He commended the efforts of the William Ruto administration in revitalizing the economy, noting that despite inheriting a challenging economic landscape, the government is making strides toward recovery.

During his address, Sudi drew parallels between the current economic challenges and the initial years of the Narc government under the late President Mwai Kibaki. He pointed out that Kibaki faced difficulties in the early years of his presidency but successfully navigated the economic revival process. Sudi expressed confidence that President Ruto, whom he described as clever and hardworking, is following a similar path laid by Kibaki, and the economy will witness positive changes in the near future.

The MP emphasized the dedication of President Ruto, stating that he works tirelessly, even working late into the night to ensure the improvement of Kenyans' lives. Sudi urged the public to be patient, assuring them that positive changes would be noticeable within the next four months and significant improvements would be realized by the following year.

Sudi addressed the ongoing economic concerns that have led to tensions between the government and the Opposition Azimio. He noted the previous calls for mass street protests but highlighted that the situation de-escalated after both sides reached a truce. The agreement paved the way for bilateral talks aimed at finding solutions to rectify the economic challenges facing the nation. Overall, Sudi's message centered on encouraging farmers to be strategic in their dealings, expressing optimism about the government's efforts to address economic issues, and calling for patience during these challenging times. | #News
