A five-year BDS degree that has been approved by the General Dental Council (GDC) and one year of Dental Foundation Training are prerequisites for becoming a dentist in the UK. To practice, register with the GDC. A-levels in biology and chemistry, as well as completing the UCAT exam, are normally prerequisites for admission. Graduates with qualifying degrees can enroll in accelerated 4-year courses.
