The Protestant Reformation was a call to return to God's Word above human tradition. The Reformers boldly declared, "The Bible, and the Bible only, is the rule of faith." Today, every Christian should ask: Are we still standing on that foundation?
"To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." — Isaiah 8:20
The Reformers—Martin Luther, John Wycliffe, William Tyndale, John Knox, and many others—risked everything to uphold the authority of Scripture, justification by faith, and freedom of conscience. Their greatest weapon was not political influence but the living Word of God.
Ellen G. White wrote in The Great Controversy that the great principle maintained by the Reformers was the infallible authority of the Holy Scriptures as the rule of faith and practice. God's people are called to test every teaching by the Bible.
