Nairobi Police Officer Accused of Pushing Girlfriend off 4th Floor

A police officer based at Kasarani, Nairobi is on the run after allegedly pushing his girlfriend to her demise off their fourth-floor apartment.

According to neighbours, an argument had ensued between the couple before they heard a loud bang.


Rushing to see what had caused the loud noise, the neighbours recalled the officer threatening them with a gun before ultimately taking off.

Reports revealed that the girlfriend fell on a car parked beside the apartment.

The reports were confirmed by Kasarani Sub-county Commander Peter Mwanzo who affirmed that investigations were ongoing to ensure that the suspect is brought to book.

The incident mirrors another occurrence where two police officers on Friday night, July 2, allegedly shot each other near Quiver club, along Thika Road.


Reports showed that an argument had ensued between the two police officers before one of them pulled the trigger on the other, injuring his hand.

The other officer, however, retaliated by shooting his colleague in the neck. A woman who had accompanied the officers was also caught in the crossfire and hit in the abdomen.

The police shot in the neck was taken to Nairobi Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in critical condition whereas his colleague and the woman only suffered minor injuries and were attended to for first aid services.


Many incidents have been occurring amongst the men in uniform, which has caused a growing concern among many about their welfare as well as mental health.

This caught the attention of Interior CS Fred Matiang'i who promised to address the concerns.

He added that the recent murders and suicide cases exposed the psychosocial challenges faced by police officers.
